Into the Wild #2: Character Map
Consider
and write about some of the similarities between your specific character and
Chris McCandless. Then, write about the ways in which your character may have
influenced Chris’s decision to go into the wild, and explain your thoughts.
Remember, there are no wrong answers as long as they are backed up by your
sincere thoughts and evidence from the novel.
Blog #2; Matty Mikelson Carl McCunn has many similarities with Chris McCandless. They both ventured into the wilderness, they both made a bad a decision that got them killed in an easily avoidable situation, and they both believed they could survive on less than they had. However they resembled each other far more than their actions. Both had a freelancer mentality of not listening to the warnings of others, as well as giving off an aura of confidence that made them easily likeable. They also held a great respect for the wild, Carl, with his love of photography of the natural beauty of the wild, and Chris, with his exploration and voyage to experience what he could from the natural land.
